It is fair to say Brad is the driving force behind the
Caravan. Going simply by "The Mystic" a name that has
followed him since 1995, Brad is also is a noted producer,
mixer and arranger. The Mystic has done work with
Halifax's "Aaron MacDonald Band", and Kingston rockers
"Color".
Tested for near-perfect pitch at age 5, Brad has long since had a love affair with music
and creation, along with a passion for art and pop culture. In 1995, he opened a small
studio in downtown Kingston, which is now known as The Analog Image Media Lab.
As a performer, Brad has shared the bill with groups like "I Mother Earth", "Our Lady Peace",
"Jann Arden", "54-40" and "Junkhouse". As The Mystic, Brad regularly writes and records original music,
often performing every instrument himself. The product which to some, including Joan Athey (CBC Vancouver)
is considered "some of the most innovative, well thought out material to come out of Kingston in years".
Brad initially broke out on the Internet scene as "The Mystic". In 1999, shortly after placing some of his
material on Mp3.com, he was one of three Canadian artists profiled that year on the site in an article titled
"The Mystic Revealed". (The other two featured: Canadian funnyman Tom Green and former Duran Duran
producer John Jones). This resulted in a small cult
following, plus a one-show
contract with the Disney
Channel for a signature
"Mystic" composition.
